With a busy family life and every bit of space filled in their North London home, our client realised they could make use of their generous garden. The keen horticulturalists wanted an elevated potting shed with the addition of an office that offered an oasis of professional calm away from the bustle of the house. And after consulting on their bespoke design, they realised they had so much space that they could squeeze in a small work studio-cum-office for their creative crafting endeavours.

Bespoke L shaped

  • Room divided in to two office spaces
  • Three skylights
  • Underfloor heating with Wi-Fi thermostat
  • Hidden store

The conservatory extension at the back of the house features contemporary black-framed picture windows, so the French doors of the new L-shaped workspace down the sloping lawn opposite were chosen to compliment those, while beautifully warm Cedar cladding tones with the existing Venetian slat fence panels bordering the garden.

Skylights

Inside, the bright and airy office space is flooded with light coming through three skylights, while integral window blinds dial down the glare as the sun sets

Underfloor heating combined with smart controls means the space can be used come rain or shine. And over in the discreetly hidden away potting shed, there’s space for tools, garden equipment and a potting bench – a sheltered, comfortable place to nurture seeds ready for the spring.

An undisturbed, three-in-one space that’s a tranquil haven for the grown ups in the house.

W‘It never fails to amaze me how much use a client can get out of a garden room. In this case, opting for our Bespoke service means our client now has a roomy office space, a smaller work room and a generous potting shed – all in a part of their garden that was lying unused.

Here, we’ve extended the same cladding onto the surrounding fences, so the outside room blends effortlessly into the garden and its surrounds. Underfloor heating is built into this garden room, so it can be used come rain or shine. Our clients were a pleasure to work with and we hope the family enjoy using this stunning space together.’
