Climb the stepping stones up a leafy pathway in our client’s Hampstead garden and you’ll happen upon a quiet working refuge set on a slope above the house.  Tucked away in a quiet corner, it’s hidden away behind the well-established trees and planting, which we were at pains to leave intact and work around when we excavated the site. The result? A strikingly modern cabin that looks right at home among the woodland.

Bespoke L shaped

  • L shaped design
  • Charred Ash cladding
  • Air conditioning and built-in surround sound system
  • Composite decking and steps
  • Hidden store

The charred ash cladding makes a striking contrast to the surrounding greenery, and the addition of composite decking and steps unites the two wings of this L-shaped office and store gives it an angular architectural beauty.

As well as household tools and sports equipment, the hidden store room houses AC units that service both the office and the house.

Room with a view

Step into the neighbouring office and there’s a view over the garden via wide, bi-fold doors, while a picture window placed strategically over a work area frames the foliage beyond.

Through the day, the room is drenched in natural light thanks to a central skylight, and as the sun sets, pools of light are cast onto the garden from the discreet black exterior downlighters.

An  integrated sound system is the icing on the cake of this sublimely immersive sanctuary that’s a scenic and serene spot to inspire.

We loved working on this bespoke L-shaped hideaway office in North London, creating a peaceful retreat that blends beautifully with nature. Tucked away in our client’s Hampstead garden, we carefully designed the space to keep the surrounding trees and plants intact, making it feel like it’s always been there.

Our team of highly skilled carpenters did an amazing job bringing this vision to life, crafting every detail with care and precision. The charred ash cladding gives a striking contrast against the greenery, while the composite decking ties the office and storage space together seamlessly. A fantastic project to work on!
