Built for work, rest and exercise, the Solari family’s hard-working, Scandinavian style space hides a wealth of features.

After a productive day in the home office, there’s room for a workout in the gym area before winding down in the adjoining sauna. And to keep this four-in-one space free of clutter, there’s even a hidden store for keeping extra equipment and household items out of sight.

The line of the garden room follows the irregular angle of the garden. But in a prime example of how to capitalise on every corner of your garden’s available space, Rob from Outsiders Garden Rooms had the vision to transform this nook into a luxury two-person sauna complete with LED perimeter lighting, an electric sauna heater and smoked glass doors for privacy.

Plywood interior with LED lighting

In keeping with the simple, elemental lines of this creative and calming space, ply-lined walls are awash with light from the sliding doors, a picture window and a skylight.

Burnt Cedar Millboard cladding compliments the minimalist look and a sustainable ‘living’ sedum roof enhances insulation and reduces heating and cooling costs.

The Solari family’s combined office, gym and sauna is one of our best examples of how you can incorporate all the elements of your lifestyle into one stunning space.

We featured Scandi-chic blonde wood, multiple light sources and careful placement of windows throughout to create brightness and warmth. There’s plenty of floor space for exercise, a compact corner for a desk and a bespoke, two-person sauna that uses the angled space to the back of the garden beautifully.
