This family in Hertfordshire needed more space but didn’t want to go through the upheaval of extending their home. Recognising that a separate garden room would be much better value for money and allow them to get exactly what they wanted, we were very happy to help!

Features
The families vision included a separate space for guests to stay, a hangout spot for their teenage children and friends, and a spacious gym for the entire family to enjoy.
To accommodate the new project, Nick and his family planned to remove the original shed, so we incorporated a discreet hidden store to house garden tools.

Additionally, the area where they wanted to position the garden room posed a challenge due to its unconventional shape. However, we embraced this challenge, confident that with creative design solutions, we could meet our client’s requirements seamlessly.
With bifold doors, a picture window and additional air conditioning, plus a wall heater, this flexible space can be used all year giving the family the much needed space they were looking for.
The Client’s Verdict
I chose Outsiders to build my garden room because I liked the practical ‘can-do attitude’ Rob presented upon meeting us and throughout discussions, as well as what we deemed to be a competitive and reasonable quote to complete works.
Due to the interesting angled shape of our garden, the design process was ‘interactive’ as we weren’t talking about a simple rectangle, but the final design quickly came into focus based on our needs and helpful clarifications provided by the team. Since having my garden room built, I have been able re-locate both my office and gym equipment and really enjoy the process of growing into my new space. The burnt-wood facia is stunning and the internal specification and quality is excellent.
I really enjoyed having Rob and his team on site, I found them to be engaging and respectful but also hard working and diligent.
